Our Purpose

MedRetreat was created to fill a very important void in the U.S. and Canadian healthcare systems...affordable and timely health care. Our main goal was to provide a safe, affordable, and timely option to healthcare in North America to uninsured, under-insured and those stuck in long waiting lines to receive their surgery. Since 2003, we have been incorporating our experience into an organized process of facilitation so our clients can receive the benefits of our knowledge and expertise.
 
Our most important objective is to protect the North American consumer from potential harm in this ever expanding industry. To date, we've risen to the task.
 
How it all began
 
It all began when our co-founder's mother was searching for affordable, quality elective medical procedures, not covered by her insurance company. After getting numerous quotes ranging from $20,000 to $30,000, she knew there had to be a more viable option.

Since our co-founder's family has had the fortunate opportunity to travel extensively throughout the world, he made the decision to search outside the United States.

To his amazement, the costs of identical procedures, performed at the most advanced private healthcare facilities in certain regions of the world, are a mere fraction of the cost in the US. However, he was frustrated by the overwhelming amount of competing information from hospitals, clinics, travel agencies and even governmental agencies. To acquire detailed information, he had to call (in the middle of the night due to the difference in time zones) or email these fractious entities to receive their biased information.

At that point he made the decision to create an American organization to fully introduce the concept of medical tourism as a viable option to the increasing costs and exclusivity of the US healthcare system. More importantly, along with his co-founder, their goal was to develop a network of the most experienced and advanced organizations in the medical tourism business. 
 
MedRetreat has personally visited all overseas affiliate facilities to ensure that their reputation was well founded. From that point on, the company has been committed to continue expanding the services and network partners so that you will have all the information that you need to make and truly educated and informed decision.
